To use exclusively e17.dunnewind.net repository.
Enlightenment repository is hosted on 2 servers on e17.dunnewind.net dns.
E17 packages : architectures i386, amd64 and powerpc.
Enlightenment is a fast , eye-candy window manager for the X windows system. As it is always in development, and there is no release, the main dev doesn't want to add it in the Ubuntu repositories.
Anyway, Albin Tonnerre (Lutin) packages himself the Enlightenment DR17 applications / libraries. This repository is hosted by dunnewind.net .
This repository allows you to install :
A windows manager (E17)
A Login Manager (Entrance)
A lot of EFL app's (image viewer, audio player)
Some module as CPU viewer, clock, icon bar ...
Pre-requisite
Now lets begin the process, lets make sure our system is up to date.
In a terminal run the following command:
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude upgrade
Public Key
The packages are signed. apt verifies that the packages signatures are correct. If you do not want to receive warnings when installing or upgrading packages from e17.dunnewind.net repository, you must import this public key inside the APT system, using the following commands:
wget http://lut1n.ifrance.com/repo_key.asc
sudo apt-key add repo_key.asc
Repository
To publish the file sources.list, you can use nano or your preferred editor. For example Gedit if you use the Gnome environment (in the order to replace sudo nano - w by gksudo gedit), Kate if you use environment KDE (in the order replace sudo nano - w by kdesu kate).
Next we will add the needed repository for E17 to our apt sources list. In a terminal copy and paste the following command:
sudo nano -w /etc/apt/sources.list
Now you need to add the following lines to the end of your apt sources list:
## Elbuntu
deb http://e17.dunnewind.net/ubuntu feisty e17
Save with CTRL + o, exit the file with CTRL + x.
Now we need to update source list using the following command:
sudo aptitude update
You can consequently install Enlightenment.
If you want to compile the sources, add the line to the Elbuntu repository:
## Elbuntu
deb-src http://e17.dunnewind.net/ubuntu feisty e17
Do not hesitate to contact Lutin or Sp4rKy for all relative questions with Enlightenment.
What has been done till now
Quite a lot / not much yet. It depends on your point of view. The package files are ready. It's working for us without any major problems.

Comments
The gutsy i386 e17 repository seems broken; In the repo at ubuntu/pool/gutsy/e17/i386/ all the packages are listed as -amd64
Also after adding the repo to sources.list
and a sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install e17 finds no package.
sudo apt-get install enlightenment finds a package, but its e16 I believe. However, it won't install as enlightenment-data is from e17.
Looking in synaptic the latest versions of packages seems to be 16.7.2-5 for enlightenment, though enlightenment-data/enlightenment-them
is 16.999,040.
Hi,
indeed, there was a build error. This will be updated in the next upload.
You can use packages from feisty section, they are exactly the same. Just change gusty by feisty in your sources.list

I am trying to obtain the latest updates to e17, but I just found out, edevelop has been closed... so I change to the dunnewind repos and I get these messages:
Failed to fetch http://e17.dunnewind.net/ubuntu/dis... 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://e17.dunnewind.net/ubuntu/dis... 404 Not Found
(I am trying to obtain the amd64 stuff)
Thanks in advance.
Hi Albanix
The Feisty Repository is updated today.
When trying to install e17 from the terminal from this repo I get a broken packages error. It says
"e17:
Depends: enlightenment (>=0.16.999) but it is not installable
Depends: emodules-all but it is not going to be installed
